Expulsion type and Current limiting fuse type

Is your equipment designed to be used with an expulsion fuse? They release junk.

Our specification specifies Current limiting type but the switchgear manufacturer is proposing the expulsion type fuse.
If the expulsion type is better we will not ask for our specification.
 
We will use these fuses at the primary side of the 13.8kV/400V transformer. Our substation has the primary side switchgear with two unfused load break switches and one fused load break switch.

The manufacturer simply wants to supply their standard equipment, not what you want.
Personally, I see no reason not to stand by your design Tell them to build per your specifications or you will find a different vendor.

IMO, Current limiting fuse type is better than expulsion type.
