What is the osha standard for cords on a job site? I understood it to be minimum 12 gauge. Is this correct?

OSHA requirements follow closely to the requirement in section 240.5(B)(3) of the 2002 NEC. 20-ampere circuits - 16 awg and larger.

The extension cords I've been using lately have been 14-gauge, and the labels on them generally list 13-15 amps as the max load.
