Hi I"m working on a Bryant 200A subpanel. I ran (3) #1 thwn and (1) #6 for aprox 90' to a 125A subpanel to supply power for a dwelling location. The problem is there is not an available space to connect the #1 grounded (nuetral) conductor to the bus bar in the Bryant 200A main panel. I have a lot of spaces but they are to small for the #1 to fit into. Is there an extention/adaptor made for this? The HO wants to make a extention that would be a 1" x 1 1/2" that would have (3) holes in it and land under the existing screws of the bus bar and then tap the extention for a #1 lug and then terminate the #1 to that??? Can this be done and still be to code??? Thanks and any suggestions would be appreciated, JB

There are terminals that will adapt to the smaller screws. Essentially it looks like a lug with 2 prongs that insert into the neutral bar screws. I will look for a picture.

Thanks Dennis, are these universal adaptors or do I need one specifically for a Bryant? Also in the pic it says for Grounding Bar only and I'm putting it on the common bus bar is that considered the same or is there another one that is needed for the common bus bar??Thanks, JB

I don't think there would be a problem putting it on the neutral bar since at times it is one and the same. I would check with Bryant (Cutler Hammer now, I believe) and get one for there bar. The distance on the feet spread is different on different panels. I have used them on the neutral bar. SHHHHH---Don't tell anyone

The picture I showed is that of a Siemens.

Dennis is right about the spacing. I had an old Bulldog panel and couldn't find a lug that fit into two holes on the neutral bar. IMO the lug wouldn't require to be listed for any specific panel. Generic lugs are used all of the time in all different pieces of equipment without a specific listing.
