Exterior emergency light

The exterior of the exit door has wall sconce and I need tohave emergency illumination to meet the code requirement and the owner do notwant to add additional wall mounted bug eye fixture for emergency.
There is no generator on the job, What is my options tocomply with the code ?

IMO that might be tough to do, but it might depend on the type of lamp / fixture that's existing, if it's true florescent you could go with a battery back up. Crunch the numbers, you'd might also have to have a new constant hot circuit in front of the switch to the battery, it just depends on battery schemitic.

700.16 requires a dual head emergency egress light. Connect it to the exit light inside the door.
