Seem to remember an update that did not allow an access point (LB) that had the possibility to be obstructed!? Wiring a shed and the ideal location for the LB would have one of the double doors obstructing it while open. (re)Looked through all of 110 but I'll be danged if I can find it.

Conduit bodies only need to be accessible which is defined in Article 100 of the NEC. Maybe soneone can post the definition so you can discuss it with your sparky.

easy, the first definitions listed in art 100:

Conduit bodies only need to be accessible, they don't need to be readily accessible.

Even panelboards which have breakers that are required to be readily accessible are often installed in a location where an open door swings in front of the panelboard, requiring the door to be closed to access the panel. The code does not prohibit this type of installation.

Thanks guys!

Not that this makes a difference (in any way shape or form) but my question stemmed from advise from our "go-to" Electrician!? I quoted (2017) ART 100 P1 as well as 110.26 and was told "it was updated..." (should have pressed for a cation )

Ah, but you get an A+ for even asking the question. Most GCs are not this detail oriented.

Rough-in conduit inspection this morning. Already mounted the LB on the non-door side, (with this info) I'll ask the township inspector if I'm ok to move to door side. straight run up to the panel from there...

Passed rough-in and the township guy laughed when I told him about our guy saying the box needed to be on the non-door side. Already moved to the better location.

Thanks again for the help!
