Extra disconnect

I have a main power panel on a piece of equipment. It has the main disconnect for the machine.
I have to add an extra enclosure with motor controls. It will be joined to the side of the main enclosure with short pieces of 2" conduit and it will get power from the main panel.
Am I required to have a disconnect on the second enclosure also??

Re: Extra disconnect

The load for all the equipment had been allowed for in the original installation, and called for all the controls to be in the Main enclosure.
However, before completion, there was a change made from IEC to NEMA controls, and now there is not enough room in the original main enclosure for all the controls. The Main enclosure (with the circuit breaker) will now hold all the heater controls, control transformer and power supply.
The enclosure that is being added will hold the motor controls.

My hope is that I will not need to add a second disconnect for the added enclosure, seeing that the added enclosure will be attached right along side of the original main enclosure, with conduit between them large enough to run the motor control wiring.

As long as it gets adequately protected power from the load side of the existing disconnect no other disconnect will be required.
