The first time I saw one of them was about 10 years ago. It was done by an EE who worked for NBC in NYC. The way he did it was with a low power transmitter so drivers by could tune their radio to receive the audio so it didn't bother the neighbors. And he would shut it down around 10:30pm to curb the traffic and lights.

It requires a whole lot of programming, power, and time. Oh, and lots of money too.

Each segment of motion has to be separate.

Nice set up. I wonder if the neighbors are as excited about this display as the homeowner?:happyno:

Neighbors ? I see a million dollar home, what appears to be an extra long drive way. As to cost of the installation IDK $50,000 & up ??

^^^up. probably close to double that.

bob fosse with a wattmeter.... we've a minime of this at
the end of the block.... broadcast music on a station you
can turn to... couple miles away, there is the boat parade
coming up in huntington harbor.... there are folks there who
spend 100k just doing their *boat*.

LED's have made a lot possible recently. people who did this back when
used a commercial lighting deck like a small version of a whole hog,
and dimming racks.... now the reduction of wattage makes it within
reach of ordinary disturbed individuals not possessed of a trust fund.

abandon all hope ye who enter here....

Looks like a blank check or MINO (money is no object) project/website links. At this point in my career, when I read something like this:

"Two rotating Gobo wheels, 2 fully retractable Animation wheels, 2 rotating Prisms, an Iris, a fixed color wheel and a CMY + CTO system... High End Systems is raising the bar YET AGAIN!"

all that comes to mind is this:

Forget the electrical side for a second; how many hundreds of hours of labor go into installing the light strings alone?
