Re: extreme voltage drop

I think coulter has a point. :)

In someways I have a real issue with codes that are enforced on the property owners 'for their own safety'.

Yeah I know.... we are not going to go backwards.

An example brought up on a forum was that a homeowner was having a house built, they where having a fancy reading room built. They did not want to ruin the expensive wood work with outlets on one wall.

Of course the NEC says that is unacaptable and the homeowner must have an outlet they do not want.

IMO, that is BS.

Re: extreme voltage drop

My wife and father are designing a house for us to build. In the interests of family and marital(sp?) harmony, I'm staying out of the design part, except to do the drawings. Guess who gets to do the electrical? The only solution I have for the unwanted wall outlets is to put in floor boxes with good water resistant caps. And the vendors are really proud of them.

For the kitchen island, it looks like I can put the outlets on the side of the cabinet right up close to the counter. Not great, but workable.

sigh
