I put in a two stage zoned HVAC in my house a few years ago. Nice system, state of the art. Helped my SIL hook up two units for his house today. Things have changed big time. So much for fan/heat/cool. We now have data lines, the thermostat talks to the unit, confims the setup, does a static pressure test and the whole thing. Whoa.

Yes, and one of the big things that has permitted these neat changes was the GE ECM motor. If you ever get a chance, take the one-day class on those motors when the chance crops up. They're really neat.
