Anyone know the NYC code for fire alarm network/data riser to DGP’s whether the conduit has to be in RGS or EMT inside and outside 2 hour fire rated closet? Also think you have to run CIC fire alarm cable Thanks

If you need 2-hour fire rating, good luck finding NYC listed CI or CIC cable. This is why they allow you to use Class A circuits with 15 foot separation in lieu of rated cable.

Please get a copy of the amendments to the 2011 NEC, NYC local law 39, and follow the requirements given therein. It can be tricky to determine where you can use plain cable and where you need RMC or EMT.

Well I'm told we have to use both CI cable and class A return loop.

NYC amendment: https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/buildings/pdf/ll39of2011_electrical_code.pdf
760.53 Fire Alarm Circuit Integrity (CI) Cable. Cables suitable for use in fire alarm systems to
ensure survivability of critical circuits during a specified time under fire conditions shall be listed
as circuit integrity cable. Cables so identified shall have the classification “CI-NYC certified fire
alarm cable”

Google "CI-NYC certified fire alarm cable"

Currently good for risers only as far as I've found (VitaLink & DuraLife), although I might have missed on that's FPLP. Additionally, the products are approved for installation in EMT and/or IMC only. If you hit a situation, by code or spec, that requires RMC, you're out of luck.
