Fire alarm control panel locations? I remember reading that the main fire alarm control panel needs to be located at the front entrance for the fireman when the enter the building I have an architect disputing this and cannot seem to find where in the code it state this any help is appreciated.

I usually installed the facp in the main electrical room. An annunciator was installed at the main entrance. It is a smaller unit with led zone mapping of the building to let someone know where there was a problem.

This would be a local issue. Also, rcarroll is correct that the annunciator is somewhere accessable. The actual control panel is usually behind a locked door or two. (Often labeled as "Fire Control Room" or something similar.) It also depends on the size of the system.
