Actually, the FHA does not require them to be at a certain measurement, but rather:bwcarter said:The National Fair Housing Act states that switches and enviromental controls be mounted at certain measurements off the floor.
"Accessible" is a broad statement and includes behind locked doors, locked covers and the like....in accessible locations....
As the FHA does not define "enviromental controls", it could be almost anything....from circuit breakers to t-stats to photocells and light fixtures.bwcarter said:What classifies as enviromental controls?
I am of the opinion that "environmental controls" is indeed a very vague term, but seems to encompass all electrical devices that an occupant would normally use.light switches, electrical outlets, thermostats, and other environmental controls in accessible locations;
Then you'll need clarification in order to comply.bwcarter said:The act is not clear on this point.
