Fake Car Alarm

[Short.Circuit]

I'd like to rig up a blinking red light on my dashboard, very plainly visible from outside to deter burglars. I don't need to do anything but blink, forever & ever. Any suggestions on how to go about this? Its an 88 honda crx. I'm a journeyman in oregon. I've wrenched on cars quite a bit, just not that much electrically, other than replacing starters, alternator brushes.

Here is a pre-built circuit for ya. You could also use a 555 timer to make one for $5.00 or less.

The one in the link however, is nice, because it will only blink when your engine is off. This is nice for driving at night. You don't want a bright red LED blinking in your face while driving!
