When you have fan coil units up in the wood trusses above a hung ceiling, are there any

exceptions for the working space required for the disconnect?

I'm not sure what a Fan Coil Unit is:-?

It's a split ac unit, compressor/condenser outside piped to a fan/coil inside the building,

all the duct work supply/return is fitted to the FCU (fan coil unit). Some FCU's are fitted

with Electric heating coils. Normally the ac compressor is on it's own circuit and the FCU

is on it's own circuit. The FCU is located above the ceiling space and a disconnect is

required, but space is limited and many times 110.26 is next to impossible.

Most here just call it an air handler. Agreed you seldom can meet 110.26 but never been called on it. And a few here do not even call it equpment so would not apply 110.26
Most inspectors know what the problem is.
