I have a customer who has had a Hot Tub removed from their Sunroom. There is currently a vent Fan in the ceiling above where the Tub had been. The customer wants to put a table in the spot where the Tub had been and would like to remove the fan and install a surface ceiling mounted luminaire.
Looking over 314.20 & 21, if I read this correctly, I would have issues with the "open" space in the ceiling when the fan is removed. I know they would like to not have to bring in a carpenter to patch the ceiling.
Anybody want to weigh in on options to this situation?
