From a NEC standpoint by the 760 article information is a cable with the following characteristics approved for Initiating Device Circuit Cable (addresable Panel):

1 Pair, 18 AWG Solid, 6.5Ω/M?, tipo FPL, Data Grade
meets the 300 volt requirement
NEC type FPL
UL Listed

ASTM bare copper
Short overall twist lenghts
Copolene(R) insulation (West Penn Wire brand)
Unshielded construction
Overall PVC jacket

I've heard a need a plenum rating for vertical cables interconnecting two or more levels in a multilevel building. Is this mandatory by norm?

Other people is telling me to use the belden 6320UL but what I want to know is if my first option is code complaint before stepping up with the higher listings and price of the belden cable.

Thanks.

Adrian.
