I recently took a west virgina masters test and there was a question to figure the load of fastened in place equipment. They gave you a list of stuff my question is I know you exclude ac and heat equip but it listed an attic fan motor is this included in that calculation? Because if so it would cause a different answer due to the demand factor. Any help would be appreciated!!!

To my way of thinking, the word "appliance" refers to diswashers, disposals, trash compactors (does anyone use these anymore?), and perhaps washing machines (if there are any that get fastened in place - I haven't seen that myself). IMHO, a fan is not an appliance. I concede that the article 100 definition would not explicitly exclude fans, but I stand by my viewpoint anyway. I would count fans in the category of motors, and add 25% to the largest of these.

Well, I disagree and would include it in the appliance load, just as I would a water heater.
