job is installing 2x2 & 2x4 lay-ins; the structure is wood. anyone got a good part for attaching the fixture supports to the wood?

could i drill a 1/4" hole through the rafters and run speed-links through it?

thanks for the help; never done this type of install in a wooden structure.

I wonder if the paper work that comes with the lay-ins resrticts their use in

any way, such as, ' Install in Tee Grid type ceiling only' . They need to CYA to.

i apologize because i didn't explain clearly enough:

it is a tee-grid ceiling, but its in a wooden structure. i've been browsing the caddy website and under the speedlink page they have an accessory called "wood eye bolt"; so I guess i'll have to install that and connect the speedlink to it to maintain the listing.

as far as restricting their installation; i think all manufacturer's make some type of ceiling bracket to install them in a drywall ceiling. i know lithonia does.
