:Dabb softstarter always indicate fault line/delta 150hp 3phase 440v motor.
what does it means?
Most likely that it is sensing a ground fault in the connected motor circuit.

Does it trip and cease operation or does it just indicate the fault while continuing to run?

ABB sells 5 different kinds of soft starters; ,PSR, PSE, PSS, PST and PSTB. Without knowing what you have it's difficult to help you.

As a complete shot in the dark guess, some versions of their soft starters are intended to be used in what's called an "inside the delta" configuration with Wye-Delta wound motors, taking advantage of all 6 leads being brought out to the starter. If you have one of those and do not understand the complexity of connecting it, you can wire it in such a way as to destroy it. So some mfrs put in protection schemes to help prevent that by not letting it energize. That's what your fault sounds like. If you have that type of soft starter but did not understand these complexities, someone has chosen unwisely.
