Ive got a datacom one that detects faults at exact distances, TDR function iirc. Never tried it on an electrical circuit since a distance reading would be largely worthless in a house. What other features does that unit have?

You can get TDRs for a lot cheaper than that. I think Triplett makes one for less than $200.
The advantage that one appears to have is that you could hook it to an energized circuit.
Never really heard of guys using them much. Maybe the type of gadget that seems like it would be much more useful than it is?
