I interpret the code to calculate HVAC loads as a non-continuous load per art 220. An engineering firm I spoke to deals with it as a continuous load and add's 125% to the load calculation for the main feeders. I am good with doing this since it adds a more conservative number to the service calculation, but I want to be factual in what the NEC considers the HVAC load. Do we consider HVAC loads Continuous or Non-Continuous?
