New installation of a relocated generator. The generator was feeding a 1600 amp service, so it has a 1600 amp breaker on it. At the new site it is feeding two new ATS's, one 600 amp and one 200 amp. The installing contractor came off the 1600 amp breaker with parallel copper 350's to a 600 amp disco on the outside of the generator enclosure, then to the ATS. Then, they came off the same 1600 amp breaker with 3/0 copper to a 200 amp disco also on the outside of the enclosure and to the ATS. The runs appear to be less than 25' but are for sure more than 10'. Each conductor has its own lug on the 1600 amp breaker. This passed inspection under the 2008 NEC. Am I missing something or is the 3/0 a violation? Thanks in advance for any help.:-?
