I want to feed to two separate power panels from the same feeder breaker and want to determine the tapped feeder circuit conductor sizes.

I have the following: A 480V, 1200A Switchgear Breaker in an electrical room of a power plant. I want to provide service power for this electrical room from a 480V, 600A panel board with a 600A Main Breaker. Due to cable routing purposes, this feeder cable will probably be longer than 25 ft. I also want to feed another 480V, 600A panel board with 600A Main Breaker in another building (PCM Building) for its service power. This distance is well over 25 ft. Section 240.21 B does not cleary state what size these two tapped feeders need to be protected for. Do they need to be protected for 1200A or 600A?

I would say 600 amps with 600 amp conductors, but your still limited to 25' of conductor length.

Is there enough room to install an additional vertical stand?
