Hello to all- I came across a strange situation at a residence. I was looking at this house in Va with regards to changing out the old fused main panel. In VA, code says that the meter base must be within 6 feet of the main panel. I went outside to look at the meter base, and found it located approximately fifteen feet from the main panel (straight line). My question is: Is there a restriction that says the feeder to the meter base from the power company can only be so long? My plans are to install a new meter base within 6 feet and let power company get their feed to it. Thanks to any and all repliers!
