Feeder Wiring decision

I was wondering if I made a good (maybe not the best) decision to run power to a newly built garage.

Details:
Existing 200 amp service in the house
1/0 3C Cu Running 250+-Ft in NM conduit to the garage.
Underground with 18" Cover.
No other metallic paths.

Is the best choice a 100A breaker in the main box to feed this line?

Or should the line from the meter run to a disconnect and be split to 2 breakers, one for the house and one for the garage?

Is there a code concerning at what point the conduit enters the house? I have yet to find this.

At this point I could go ether way as the feeder wire is the only thing installed in the ground(did not yet punch a hole into the house).

Installing a 100A breaker in the service is OK if allowed by the manufacturer. There may be a limit on the ampacity of branch breakers due to bus stub overloading. The conduit can enter wherever you choose. BTW does the 1/0 have insulation for wet locations?

I used THWN (dual rated THHN/THWN), and the Panel Checks out to be rated for that breaker size (new CH 42 space panel).
