I am refeeding a residential house with a 200 amp main in the garage and subfeeding the original panel from there. The subpanel has a 150 amp main breaker. The home owner wants to keep it that way. I am going to feed it with 4/0 SER. They don't make a 150amp breaker so I was going to use feed though Lug on the 200 amp panel. Does anyone see a problem with this?

What code cycle are you on?

the 4/0 SER (assuming Al of course) is OK for 150A, 338.10 (4), and 334.80, 08NEC

but the feed thru sounds like a tap, check 240.21(B)

I don't think you can go very far but need more info.
