Came across this in a residential panel in which a solar contractor set a sub panel on the back side of the main panel and moving a majority of the branch circuit breakers over. The sub panel is the same breaker size as main. They ran the feeders to the sub panel straight across the busbar and zip ties to the neutral bar for support. Does anyone know if this specifically addressed in NEC? https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/gjftCq4XJV9Y

Thanks for the reply... Yeah I told him his answer would be in Article 408, thank you for the specific section... they still wanna argue about it and act like I'm trying to slander them. Oh well

What exactly in section you mentioned is in violation?

I don't like OP's installation in question either, but I don't feel I could cite that section as a reason to reject it.

Agreed.

As ugly as it may be, I'm not sure there is a section that would not allow an insulated conductor to be run across bussbars or zip tied to the neutral bar regardless of the oddity of it.

Yes , agreed. A definite grey area. 110.12 “ neat and workman like” and request documentation from manufacturer. 110.3(B). Bet the busses aren’t listed for supporting conductors, nor are the ty wraps listed for securing conductors on busses. “Just please clean up your mess already”.
