Feeders vs Power source output conductors

Alright, can someone tell me the difference between power source output conductors connecting at a feeder or Breaker per 705 and feeders. I'm looking into the installation of SPDs at the main distribution panel when you make a connection with power source output conductors.

The definitions overlap. Power source output conductors may be feeders. Arguably all power source output conductors are also feeders unless they are service conductors.

Terms like feeder, and branch circuit, and their counterparts like service conductors, taps, and transformer secondaries, all classify circuits based on where they are relative to overcurrent protection. Feeders and branch circuits are fully protected at their ampacity, while the others are either 'not yet protected", or protected in excess of their ampacity, until it's practical to terminate them on a disconnect/OCPD.

"Power source output conductors" could classify as any of the above, depending on the context of where the section of conductor of interest is, relative to OCPDs, circuit combining, and interconnection with other circuits.
