Number 1 of 4 just graduated college, which is great. BUT...next year 3 in college. Need to raise the rates.

In the last week I have driven 3000* miles watching diesel going up in price every few hours. $990.00 in fuel expense.

Drove from DC to Florida, Florida to Atlanta, Atlanta to Florida, Florida to DC, DC to North Carolina and then back home. One trip was work related one was graduation related.

You need to find something with better gas milage. This was what 200 gallon ?

Customer had an issue in south GA on Florida line, needed way to much equipment to fly.

Trip to NC was for graduation I was towing a trailer to NC and fuel went from 17.8 to 12.6 MPG.

Congratulations Brian!

Congratulations Brian!

Congratulations on scraping together the funds to accomplish that feat and impressing on your children the importance of getting higher education. They are doing the college work but it is you and your wife that are providing the means for them to get there and the encouragement to continue. The congratulations go to you and your wife.

Agreed, Brian, and I apologize for focusing on the 'why?' factor instead of the 'what a dad!' factor.

Brian
I have one who graduated last year, and one in now. Next year I will have two in...I feel your angst.
It is amazing the costs of college, outside of the normal costs (tuition, room & board, etc...). Getting kids back and forth between holidays is an added expense most do not consider until they have experienced it. My first daughter's travel expenses were also in the thousands.

It is all worth it in the end...so I am told and willing to listen.

P.S. My parents paid for me to go to college - the "ball is round".
(4 of us cost less than my daughter's college - )

Brian, congratulations on a job well done by your children. Your post title brings to mind a simple song. I'd sing it for you, but that's hard to to on a message board, so the best I can do is link to it. Enjoy.

Same here. At least they stayed local, phew. I told them if they went to school out of state I'd see them in 4 years, they took it to heart. :)

In any case, congrats to Brian and all of you who managed to inspire your kids towards a degree.

What was the issue in south GA Brian that you needed that much equipment?

Good job Brian, You should feel very proud of yourself and your wife.

Remember those days thinking 'is this all worth it' , now you know.

Congrats,
