We are installing some fiber optic cable over a roof top of a building with a 2 in 12 pitch. This is a fiber optic able with a 1/8" galvanized steel messenger. The messenger will be bonded to the building electrode system at the service entrance.
Article 770 does not specify a minimum distance over the roof similar to that found in 800,.44 and 820.44.
Are we able to have less than 10' clearance above the roof?
I believe that since the code book is silent on this issue, there are no applicable requirements. The hazard is only a tripping one as the fiber optic cable carries light not power.
Thanks,
Gregory
