Hi everyone,I'm installing some fiber optic lights on a rooftop.Due to the design of the light about 6 inches of cable is exposed to sunlight(leaving the stem and connecting to the back of the head)I called the manufacturer and they said the cable was rated for five years outdoors. Is there anything I could use to wrap or protect the cable with to extend the life of the cable.I don't deal with fiber lighting alot so I'm out of ideas. Thanks for any help!

Out of curiosity, what mfg are you using??? I've tried to get into FO lighting, but the literature from a few of the manufacturers always leaves me confused on what I need to buy to put an installation together.

In your case, I'd put at least 2 layers of heavy duty heat shrink, I believe some is meant for outdoors/UV, check the 3M site, or heatshrink.com.
