Fiber optics code

Hello,
I'm trying to determine what a "riser" is according to article 770 (fiber optics). It seems that some fiber optic cable is suitable for use in risers and some isn't. But I cannot find a clear definition of a riser in the code. Does anyone have any idea of how the code defines a riser?

The NEC doesn't really define a riser, just when you need to use riser-rated cable. As RUWired pointed out, see 770.154(B), as well as 770.154(E).
