My limited knowledge of the subject is that it’s usually done with an oscilloscope.
It’s my understanding that with say a recording ammeter or a energy monitor, it would not show up.
Ive had customers ask me about it when Im doing transfer equipment for customer-purchased portables that they intend to use, and I refer them to manufacturers literature.
