Figuring load in KW

I am trying to figure out the cooling requirements for an ADP (automatic data processing) center. The Federal publication 94 suggests 3 tons of cooling per every 10 KW of load. At present I have 54 amperes of current on each phase of a three phase 110/208 volt system consisting of all single phase 110 volt loads.

Do I figure the KW per phase and then add them?

Any help would be appreciated. Jim

Yep. 54 amps per phase at 120V = 54*3*120 = about 20KVA.

So you need about (20/3.5) minumum about 6 tons of A/C. So 3 x 3 ton units so you have n+1 redundency, though I'd go for a bit bigger.
