I was wondering if the moderators or Mike Holt could create a separate place for members to upload Excel files, small programs and zipped files for estimating, load calcs. etc! so other members could download them instead of having to e/mail them out to people who request them?

Thanks in advance for considering this.:)

Thank you for the suggestion. Now I can?t speak for the other Moderators, but I would prefer that such files be exchanged via email. It would be less of a risk that a file with an unsuspected and lurking virus could effect many computers all at the same time.

Probably easiest to park your file at a place like PutFile.com and just link to it in your post. That's what I normally do on such occasions.

Charlie, we'll let you open the files up first and check them....:D

I have to believe "Looker Upper", this guy is to fast.

I think I've pushed my luck about as far in this respect as I'd care to bother the webmaster about, at this point. :)

We've got the smileys mostly functional, the attachments feature has been extended to 146k (which is not profound, but adequate for most purposes), and the avatars got fixed.

I think I'll start looking at that site Marc mentioned. :)

Bob, was there a specific file you'd like hosted, or is it something that just keeps coming up for you over time?

I said putfile off the cuff, but when I double-checked, I've mostly been using mediafire.com. I forget exactly why. I think it allows very large files more easily.

George,
I would like to be able to upload a .zip or .exe file
I looked at putfile.com and went to another link putstuff.com but the putstuff link wasn't working. Putfile will only allow you to upload media type files.
