Folks,

I am working on a Fire alarm system and I am required to comply French standards NFS 61931/61950/61962/61936.

I have limited experience with NFPA 72.

1.Can someone advise where I can get English translation

2.Can someone advise what is the key differences betweenthese two
standards

3.We have Fire indicator panels (FIP)on a fibre optic network. How do I ensure that I can initiate alarms connected to a FIP from the main FIP (which is installed on a remore control room).

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Forum :)

Now for your answers:

1. You can "preview" it online at the NFPA website or order the standard through any supply house or online book store.

2. I am not familier with the French Standards mentioned so I cannot give you a good comparison.

3. By FIP I assume you are talking about a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) and annunicator panels. The alarm annunication would be in the wiring of the initiating devices to the control panels and the communications between annunciator/booster panels and the FACP. I am not familier enough with fiber optics wiring to make a good call on that, but common sense is telling me that if you have terminated it properly, all alarms should show up on both annunciator panels and FACP.
