Fire Alarm Cable

So I ordered 14-2 Metal Clad fire alarm cable. I received basically a 14-2 MC cable that was red in color (black, white, green conductors). Does this seem right?Is this a FA approved cable?

In MA I could use it, in RI I could not.

RI has a color code and MA does not.

My experience with it is that it's even less flexible then mc, with a much tighter winding around the conductors. Not sure if my company cheaped out, but personally hate the stuff...

Can of spray paint probably would of been cheaper.
In Chicago we can paint the emt and 1900 red.
