The circuit boards in this photo were apparently added to correct a nuisance alarm problem with a fire sprinkler system. Has anyone seen this before and is such a repair legitimate?

So the DIP switch we see in the photo is how you set the device address?I worked on a system similar to these boards, It was a gamewell system and I was installing a simplex system in its place. The boards we took out in the demo were gamewells isolation modules that looked like these. I put in simplex's Iam modules in place of these. They are relay modules that give a device an address in a addressable fire system.
