Can you use NM to feed power to a fire alarm in resdential homes? Reading Article 760 say BC must be in rmt, imc, emt. It talks physical protection of the branch circuit etc. If I run PVC up from the basement to the attic, can I run NM to my alarms through this conduit. Looking in" Analysis of Changes" book it say branch circuits must be installed in a metallic wiring method when in those ares requring AFIC protection. I think I just answer my question but what do you think?

NM is fine in a home for typical 120V/battery back-up smokes.

If you are running an actual fire alarm system, 760 would apply.

Where in 760 does it say it must be in conduit? I am assuming your talking about a NPLFA if so 760.41(b) prevents it being on an AFIC or GFCI circuit. For PLFA it's article 760.121(b).
