Fire Alarm Control Wiring

Can control wiring(class 1,2,3 circuits) be mixed with circuits for smokes, strobes pull stations etc? THanks.

Most fire alarm panels I have seen do not allow any wiring from other sorces
to be mixed with their wiring.

You are allowed to run power limited FA wiring with other power limited wire. See NFPA-70 (2007) 725.56 et seq. and 760.56 et seq.

See manufacturers written instructions..
I never said the code wouldn't let you. Most fire alarm panel manufacturers won't allow it.

"Most" doesn't include Siemens (install per NEC 760/state/local), Silent Knight (nothing either way) or FireLite (install per NEC 760/state/local).

That's why I said "most" not all.
Op is an estimator and I was pointing out that even if the code allows mixing wiring some mfgrs. won't and if he assumes that he can mix wiring and bids accordingly he may find out that he can't and have to re-do a lot of wiring late in the game at his companys expense.

Okay, so who's in the "most" camp?

Ok, I see by your profile that you are an engineer that designs and commissions fire alarm systems. You obviously
know more about fire alarm systems than i do. And I'm not saying that in a smartass way.
I've dealt with many halon, FM200 and Energen systems over the years and I do read manuals. So I'm not speaking out of my butt I know what I've read and tested,
but if you want to say I win, go right ahead.
I've seen enough of the EE vs EC pissing contest in another thread.

Anyhow, no matter the consensus here to this question, try to make a distinction for applications like this, between Class 1, and the other two Classes. Easier to keep the ideas separate.
