Can I have the Fire Alarm Control Panel in one structure (the shed) and the devices located in another (the greenhouse). Or must both the FACP and devices be located within the same structure?

Not sure if anyone would be familiar with this so I thought I'd check, thanks

Sure, you can do that. There is no restriction in NFPA 72 regarding this arrangement. Check your local code for amendments or building code for restrictions. It doesn't appear you can run directly from the shed to the greenhouse without exiting the shed envelope. You should bury the interconnecting wire as the requirements for overhead connection are pretty onerous. I've used type TC for such occasions.

You need surge protection on each FA circuit (NAC, IDC, SLC) at the entrance point to each building. Otherwise, it's like the FA system in any other building.
