Fire Alarm Mass notification

I would like to combine the fire alarm speaker /strobe with a mass communication system, using one device. as far as I have seen per NFPA 2013, chapter 24 this can be done, now I am not a fire alarm expert has anyone ever tried this before?

It's done often. Usually with one speaker and separate strobes for fire and mass notification.

Normally the same voice alarm system is used for fire and mass notification, so only one speaker is needed.

We rep Siemens, and the usual solution is to co-locate a speaker-strobe for fire with a separate strobe-only device (usually amber) for mass notification. The System Sensor units would be good for something like the Silent Knight ECS product or any other line that doesn't handcuff you to a proprietary notification appliance.
