A customer wants me to install 120 volt power to some smoke detector locations. He wants me to tap off of existing 120 volt power sources to supply power for the smoke detectors. The smoke detectors will have a signal cable connected to them as well that the owner wants to install himself. Is this permissible for me to install the 120 volt power to these locations without installing a separate fire alarm circuit?

Thank you for your response.

I would say that the location is commercial. They make electrical controllers for industrial machines.
