Hi everyone,
There is a system that was hacked in by the previous installer and so far I have cited over 82 code voilations but there is one portion I am not
very clear on. We are going to remove the system and install an addressable. The previous system has elevator recall smoke heads (convential) with a relay base. These are two wire smoke with a form C relay. Now, the addressable system we will also be using a relay base with the detector and my question is
are the conductors from the relay base to the elevator controller need to be supervised per the NFPA 72? If so, how will this be accomplished?

Can the relay base and put addressable relay modules at the elevator controller, within 3 feet. Map all the lobby detectors except for the primary floor to the primary recall relay and the primary floor detector to the secondary recall relay. The pit smoke detectors (if any) should be programmed for secondary recall, the shaft detectors (if any) mapped to primary recall, and the machine room detector (if any) will depend on where the machine room is relative to the primary recall floor.
