Fire alarm system intaller in CA

We may have an opportunity to get into this field....

Do any of you install commercial fire alarm systems?

What are the required qualifications?

Someone recently told me that there was going to be a new 'fire marshal certification' or something like that....?

In California you need to be certified for General Journeyman or Fire Alarm Technician but not both I believe. Then you would need a contractors license.
