Hello,

I'm looking for some help. In my fulltime job I have been asked to review Fire Alarm drawings that are in the design phase. Like most electricians I can read and follow fire alarm drawings, but to know if a specific notification or initiation device is supposed to be a specific location is a different story. Lately, I have spent a lot of time in NFPA 72, and the International Building Code trying to find my answers. With all this being said, I was wondering if anyone can direct me to any other reference material. Does Mike Holt or anyone have a good Fire Alarm Book?

There is the NTC Brown Book. I don't have it, nor do I have any connection to NTC, but I've heard around that it's pretty good. It's not cheap ($160). You may be able to pick it up used. I don't see anything on Mike's website that focuses on fire alarm. Someone will chime in if I'm wrong.
