Is 24V wiring for Fire Alarm devices "nonincendive". i.e. can regular wiring for smoke detectors be used in Class I, Div 2 area's. Presumably you still need the seals where the conduit enters the room.

if the devices are non incendive, they should be labelled "intrinsically safe" on the device, and the manuf. lit. should indicate it also

?Nonincendive? and ?Intrinsically Safe? may be similar but they are different protection techniques. ?Nonincendive? is defined in Section 500.2 and ?Intrinsically Safe Systems? have an Article all to themselves (Art 504) with their own set of definitions. Their applications are listed in Section 500.7.

To answer the OP, a 24V fire alarm system is not automatically nonincendive. It may be but probably isn?t. If it is, there must be a control drawing that describes full installation details; e.g., see 501.10(B)(3) and 501.150(B), especially 501.150(B)(1) Exception (3) and (4).
