hey guys I know that fire alarm systems are somewhat covered in the nec however I was wondering if there is an actual codebook that would cover fire alarm systems in greater detail. the problem im having is were bringing a condo up to 2002 code with minihorns in every unit on the condo. I have a customer who does not want to see his horn so we have located it out of sight on top of his cabinet is this code acceptable. also can I have a end of the line resistor inside of a unit or does it need to be in the breezeway thanks

If it is an audible device only, you just need to have it meet the decibel levels and other requirements in NFPA 72 Section 7.4. There are too many requirements for me to list them here (all I have is the hard copy). There are some additional fire alarm requirements in NFPA 101 Chapter 31 section 31.3.4 and Chapter 9 section 9.6 (if the condos are in that type of configuration). :)
