fire ants

can someone tell me how to keep fire ants out of electrical boxes and panels and what draws the ant to the electrical box or cabinet

I will agree with Santo, the fire ants do get into transformers and electrical boxes here in the south.
Bennie, I don't think you have fire ants in your area, do you?
