I need some information on 2 things:
1)The NEC doesn't address Fire Apparatus in any way. I sit on the NFPa committee which is charged with overseeing Line voltage equipment on Fire Apparatus. There has been much discussion about vehicle mounted generators. Generators ranging from a portable generators to truck mounted PTO, and Hydraulic units. The vehicle mounted lights as well as the outlets are of the 3 wire 120volt or 240 volt single phase type. The question for the 120 volt items is should the neutral and ground be bonded at the circuit panel, or the power generating unit OR, should the neutral be isolated and the ground bonded to the vehicle frame and GRCI circuit breakers required.
2) With hydraulic generators on Fire Apparatus running from 6 to 75 KW. Should the NEC have a section that addresses this area?
